Shooting a brand campaign: it has been my sole ambition ever since the day I joined
Piaget China team as an executive assistant. In this term, I have a group project to
shoot a fashion communication campaign for a French fashion brand – Agnes B with
five other group mates. The shooting took place in two studios – one in my university
and one in a film school. This shooting during my master program inspired me to
pursue this type of job in the future and to have more experience when dealing with
similar situation.
I thought the shooting would follow all rules and procedures properly but there was
always a lot of things to do.
Expectation of the event:
Model, photographer, group mates all on time, bring all the outfits we need, shoot
scenes one by one
Difficulties:
Model was late for 2 hours but the photographer had to leave on time, so we don’t have
enough time to shoot calmly. We didn’t have time to take the photos for our brandzine.
Model didn’t agree with the hair makeup even we sent her agency before and they
agreed
Model is 16 years old, unexperienced. Her mother came with her and her mother was very
controlled.
Resolution:
We splited into two groups. When two of our group mates stayed with the model, the
other four went to the film school in advance to decorate the club scene, in order to save
time.
One of my friends who used to be a model was willing to assist me to shoot more photos
for free for our brandzine use. We shooted 3 different outfits again with Agnes B
cardigans in a park.
What is learned from this shooting:
Ask for details of the model when contacting with model agency, better to find a model
full of experience and is professional when doing hair makeup
